Guess I've Become an Archivist?? March 30, 2025

I've written a lot of things, whether it be entire story scripts, story snippets and one offs, and mountains of worldbuilding notes! I've been writing them on various word docs on my computer and various note apps on my phone for over a decade now.

But around a couple years ago I had this small thought that sorta grew into something larger: Hey it would suck if I lost all of that!

As someone who's lost tons of artwork from not one, but two computer deaths during my early teens (that I was only able to recover because I had nearly everything uploaded to deviantART- I'm still grateful for my past self!), the thought of losing all of my creative work is terrifying!! Despite having 2 backups I couldn't shake that feeling, so I had the wild idea of printing everything out. Yep! Everything!!! Story notes, character ideas, worldbuilding, everything will be printed.

So say hello tooooo to the (wip) worldbuilding and story binder! Right now it's housing everything, from old prose to story ideas to worldbuilding notes and snippets about my characters at the time.

It's super barebones now, but I wanna decorate the front in the future!

I've been noting things down since 2012 and I'm only part of the way through 2013 so I'm nowhere near done haha. I definitely have a long way to go!

Anytime I do get the chance to print them out and stick them in the binder, it's a nice little walk through memory lane! And ngl, it is nice to be able to hold my writing in my hands, not limited to a computer or phone screen!

And to anyone reading, I like to use Obsidian for writing these days! It's local and doesn't need any internet access to use too!
